What Is The MV-1?

Historically, wheelchair-accessible vehicles required the customization of a minivan by cutting it into pieces then reassembling it to be more accommodating. However, the resulting aftermarket vehicle would often lead to safety and durability concerns. Mobility Ventures knew there had to be a better way and began constructing the world’s first wheelchair-accessible vehicle, the MV-1, from the ground up.

The MV-1 is constructed in AM General’s state-of-the-art commercial assembly plant, the automotive manufacturer most well-known for the civilian Hummer® and military Humvee®. The resulting vehicle is both durable and meets or exceeds the American with Disabilities Act requirements as soon as it leaves the assembly line. This means that no disassembly and reassembly of the vehicle is necessary for wheelchair accessibility.

We know from personal experience the problems that can arise with converted vans and knew there had to be an easier and more comfortable transport option.
